About the Collaborative
What is a Collaborative?
Who: A group of stakeholders that come together on a regular basis to explore common interests and address obstacles related to residential and commercial energy code compliance.
Why: To establish a neutral, cooperative forum for identifying and tackling obstacles to improving energy code compliance.
Benefits
- Improved rates and ease of compliance
- Identification and coordination of support and incentives
- Increased education/training opportunities
- Opportunity to learn from shared experiences
- Improved building stock and healthier indoor environments
- Collective understanding of code interpretations and verification
- Awareness of common practices, compliance rates and opportunities for improvement
How It Works
Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) works with local stakeholders to identify common areas of interest and help the collaborative establish its own goals. Areas of interest include common builder challenges, impediments to enforcement, and coordination of other code support efforts. The meetings serve as an opportunity to inform the implementation of the Department of Energy Residential Energy Code Support Program.
The collaborative is facilitated quarterly by MEEA and is open to anyone in Missouri. Participation is encouraged.
