Project Manager, Building Codes & Compliance

Michelle Thorsell is Project Manager, Building Codes & Compliance, at MEEA. She leads selected initiatives and supports the work of the Buildings Team with a focus on energy efficiency of new and existing buildings.  

Michelle comes from running an architectural practice that primarily serviced municipal, county and state agencies and non-profit organizations for new development, restoration and forensic analysis. Michelle has also served on local government environmental, stormwater and wastewater commissions.  

Michelle graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Architecture. She is a licensed architect, LEED AP and holds an NCARB Certificate. During off-hours, Michelle volunteers her time leading a local foundation and a local non-profit organization.
