The Midwest Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) Collaborative was formed in 2022 to accelerate adoption of ASHPs in the Midwest. Please join MEEA on March 7, 2023 from 11:00 am-12:30 pm CT to hear from Jason LaFleur with GTI and Zak Paine with Slipstream as they discuss new and existing workforce development around the installation of heat pumps. The two will touch on full load heat pumps, dual fuel heat pumps and gas fired heat pumps, and how the training for these three pieces of equipment differs (e.g., the different knowledge or skillsets that contractors need to have for installing each of them). As the use of heat pumps becomes more prevalent, the need for qualified installers must also be addressed.

Join us in exploring how energy efficiency enhances the resilience of critical facilities across the Midwest region. Topics covered will include how critical facilities are defined, who has the capacity to research the energy needs of these facilities and examples of funding sources that states are using to further related efforts.

New efficiency metric standards for heat pumps and air conditioners came into effect on January 1, 2023. The new standards will affect testing procedures, regional minimum efficiency requirements and move to SEER2 and HSPF2 rating systems. Join us as we discuss the impacts these standards will have on our industry including their effects on manufacturers, efficiency programs and consumers.
