The Effects of COVID-19 on Energy Efficiency
Utilities and program administrators in the Midwest had to react quickly to the pandemic by shutting down or curtailing much of their efficiency activity. Programs and practices had to be retooled to address health & safety of workers and customers. Questions of energy affordability have taken center stage with legislatures, regulators and consumer advocates. Paradigms have shifted and we have to adapt our industry. This plenary will highlight the ways the efficiency industry is shifting to address the need for energy affordability, workforce revitalization and changes in the way we evaluate program impacts.
