Sonia Holsen

Market Solutions & Education Associate

Sonia Holsen is a Market Solutions & Education Associate at the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance. In this role, she collaborates on projects where MEEA acts as an outreach service provider with K-12 schools, helps to coordinate the Building Operator Certification (BOC) program and develops education curriculum designed for community-based organizations. Prior to joining MEEA, Sonia interned at the Keller Science Action Center doing community engagement and stewardship work. She has also gained experience working with environmental nonprofits through internships at Sustain Dane, an environmental education organization in Madison, WI, and Elevate Energy, another energy efficiency organization located in Chicago. In these positions, she performed communications, program analysis and policy research.

Sonia has a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Gender & Women’s Studies with a certificate in French from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is particularly passionate about climate action and equity, and in her free time, she enjoys riding horses and trying new restaurants.
