With ComEd’s EE Plan 7 and associated stipulation agreement now finalized/filed, ComEd wants to raise awareness around its upcoming sourcing event (RFP) for EE Plan 7. ComEd began preparing for this event earlier last year and originally planned to issue the RFP to potential bidders this month. However, recently proposed legislation (Senate Bill 2473) could have a significant impact on the transition from Plan 6 to Plan 7 if it becomes law this year – prompting ComEd to reconsider the timing of the RFP.
As a result, ComEd has decided to postpone the RFP to early 2026. This will allow ComEd to monitor the progress of the bill, better utilize the time/resources of their contractors, and reduce potential impacts on achieving their current year goals for the portfolio. To accommodate this change, ComEd will work with our existing implementation contractors on plans for 2026.
