Carl Samuelson is the Associate Director of Strategy at Michaels Energy, based out of their Minneapolis office. At Michaels, in his current role, he leads strategic partnerships, proposals for new business, and develops sustainable and inclusive solutions to the complex problems facing the grid and climate. He takes pride in building an 18+ year career in an industry that plays a leading role in mitigating climate change. Carl has worked on climate and energy from a variety of perspectives over his career, including as an organizer, auditor, facilitator, advocate, researcher, project manager and coach.
Carl earned a B.A in Political Science from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. He is a Certified Energy Manager by the Association of Energy Engineers and is working on an MBA from the University of Wisconsin MBA Consortium. In addition to the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) board, Carl is a past board president of the Midwest Chapter of the Association of Energy Service Professionals (AESP). Carl is an enthusiastic father and loves to spend time with his family, as well as read, cook, play chess, cross-country ski, and be outdoors.
