A Midwest Review of the ACEEE 2016 State Energy Efficiency Scorecard

On this webinar, MEEA reviewed the Midwest states’ performance in the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy’s (ACEEE) 2016 State Energy Efficiency Scorecard. The annual scorecard ranks each state and provides a benchmark for states’ progress with energy efficiency policies and programs across six areas including: utility programs, transportation, building energy codes, combined heat and power, state initiatives, and appliance standards, giving policymakers a toolkit to increase savings from energy efficiency investments in their states. ACEEE's Weston Berg, lead author of the 2016 State Energy Efficiency Scorecard, provided an overview of the scorecard and methodology, along with a review of the Midwest states’ rankings. Panelists Kristy Manning from the Missouri Division of Energy and Sarah Mullkoff with the Michigan Environmental Council discussed the energy efficiency improvements spearheaded within their states that led to Missouri and Michigan becoming the scorecard's two most improved states in the Midwest region.
