Bob Brice is the President of ESI, Inc as well as Cenergy, LLC, a Home Energy Performance Consulting firm in Des Moines, Iowa. As a RESNET certified rater, and certified Green Rater, Bob has spent the last several years helping builders and homeowners maximize energy efficiency in homes and light commercial projects. As a National Comfort Institute certified Air Balancing Technician and CO/Combustion analyst, Bob has expanded Cenergy’s service offering to include advanced HVAC performance testing and consulting. Working closely with reputable HVAC and Insulation contractors in the state of Iowa, Cenergy offers comprehensive solutions to common building efficiency problems. Cenergy specializes in HERS Ratings, Tax Credit certification for efficient new homes, Manual J, D, and S calculations, Air Balancing, Duct Renovation Recommendations, Envelope Troubleshooting, Insulation System Design, and Thermal Imaging.

Bob serves as a board member for the Iowa Association for Energy Efficiency, and Center on Sustainable Communities (COSC). Bob is a regular speaker in the HVAC industry at national trade shows and events including Comfortech, the NCI Performaxx Summit, and the RESNET annual conference. In addition, Bob is a regular contributor to the two largest HVAC trade magazines, Contracting Business and The NEWS (Air Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration).

Tim Hanes has been working in the energy efficiency world for the past 14 years. He is the Vice President of ESI, Inc as well as a partner of Cenergy, LLC, the largest Home Energy Consulting firm in the state of Iowa. As a RESNET certified rater, Tim specializes in the whole house approach to energy efficiency. With the NCI Air Balancing certification, Tim has been able to implement HVAC system performance testing and analysis into Cenergy’s service offering. Tim is regularly consulted by industry professionals on his approach to field testing and analysis of HVAC systems. He is a certified geothermal installer and a member of the Iowa Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSPA). Tim is also a trainer for NCI and is frequently asked to speak at energy efficiency related conferences and events around the country.

Rob Falke entered the Testing and Balancing Industry in 1987 After working in his family’s HVAC business for 15 years. In 1992 he became a certified NEBB supervisor. He founded and serves as president of a certifying TAB company currently known as National Balancing Service. Over the next 10 years his company balanced hundreds of residential, light commercial and industrial systems.

Not happy with system performance and the typical air balancing that is still very prevalent in the industry, Rob decided to make it his life’s work to develop a new solutions-based approach to testing and balancing. In 1994 he co-founded a national training and certification organization now known as National Comfort Institute where he is currently president.

Rob is a widely recognized industry speaker, trainer, and writer, and has spoken at many industry events including Focus on the Future, The Design/Build Seminar, Air Conditioning Contractors of America, HVAC Comfortech, Affordable Comfort and many other contractor meetings. He has sat on and is currently involved in a number of industry advisory boards and committees, including the NATE test construction committee. A true visionary in the field of air diagnostics and air balancing, Rob is also a regular contributing author to Contracting Business Magazine.
