Ohio Businesses Encouraged to Use Cogged V-Belts

Dayton Power and Light (DP&L) is participating in a program with Argonne National Laboratories, Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance and AEP Ohio to encourage distributors of commercial products to sell energy efficient cogged (or notched) V-belts.

The pilot program, which runs through October, is attempting to transform the market and move businesses toward the use of cogged V-belts, which run cooler, last longer and use two to three percent less energy than the standard smooth V-belt, according to the US Department of Energy.
