The Illinois Solar Energy Association is proud to participate in the American Solar Energy Society’s National Solar Tour.  The ASES National Solar Tour is the world's largest grassroots solar event. More than 160,000 participants will visit some 5,500 buildings in 3,200 communities across the U.S.  This FREE event is coordinated nationally by the nonprofit American Solar Energy Society in collaboration with dozens of outstanding partner organizations.

The 2010 Illinois Solar Tour will take place on Saturday, October 2 from 10am to 3 pm, in conjunction with National Energy Awareness Month.  The tour is a free self-guided statewide event with over 185 homes and businesses with renewable energy installations participating as host sites. System owners and docents will be available to share their enthusiasm and experience as well as answer questions. This event offers Illinois residents the opportunity to tour innovative green homes and buildings to see how easy it is to use solar, wind and geothermal energy’s to reduce monthly utility bills and be part of the energy solution. Participants on the tour will have the opportunity to view a solar car wash, a solar heated high school swimming pool, as well as many homes powered by clean renewable energy!
