Air Sealing Techniques

Proper and effective air sealing is a MUST in building science when attempting to improve the energy efficiency, safety, and durability of the residential homes. This full-day class will go in-depth on the science behind air sealing, strategies for locating the extensive air leakage pathways, and processes for properly and effectively sealing these openings. Students will elarn what materials should be installed where, how to properly install the air sealing materials, and how to verify their effectiveness. The classroom expereience is supplemented by an optional but highly encouraged associated field expereience. 

Energy StarInstructor Keith Williams has over twenty years' experience providing energy efficiency improvements in existing residential buildings. Keith specializes in hands-on training on procedures and techniques for properly providing effective air sealing services and has been providing this training throuhout Illinois to home improvement contracting business for the past three years. 

Who should attend? - This session is designed for all home performance consultants, HVAC, insulation, and air sealing contractors. BPI CEUs will be available for all BPI certified professionals.
