Prior to her recent retirement from Missouri State Government, Llona served as Deputy Director for the Missouri Division of Energy from 2014 through 2016, and Director of the Division of Energy (the State Energy Office for the State of Missouri) from June 2011 to 2014.  In August 2013, by Governor’s Executive Order, the Division of Energy was transferred from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to the Missouri Department of Economic Development.  And, in April 2014, Governor Nixon announced the Division of Energy would lead a statewide initiative to develop a comprehensive state energy plan and restructured the Division management.

Prior to her work with the Missouri Division of Energy, Llona served as a District Director for U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill and a Project Manager for the American Lung Association.  During 2005-07, Llona served as Trustee on the Boone Hospital Center Board of Trustees.  Her previous work at the Missouri Department of Natural Resources for 9 years included Deputy Director for Outreach and Assistance Center, and as Assistant to Department Director.  Llona’s career began as a Legal Assistant, with emphasis in estate administration and workers’ compensation. 

Llona was elected to the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance Board of Directors in May 2012, and elected Secretary of the Board in June 2014.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri. 

Her retirement days at present are occupied with her two grandchildren, Brynn and Blake.
