Illinois

  • The Illinois Capital Development Board is currently overseeing a process by the Illinois Energy Conservation Advisory Council (ECAC) to adopt the 2015 IECC statewide for residential and commercial buildings.  The residential sub-committee has recently made some changes to their recommendations, and will bring the following proposals to the full committee on April 20th:

Minnesota:

The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) is moving closer to finalizing adoption of a new residential building energy code.  The code is based on the 2012 IECC and contains several amendments that were developed during a stakeholder process that began in 2012.

MEEA Policy Webinar - ACEEE 2013 State Energy Efficiency Scorecard: A Midwest Perspective

In this policy webinar, MEEA took a closer look at the Midwest region’s success in ACEEE’s 2013 State Energy Efficiency Scorecard.  ACEEE provided an overview of their scorecard and methodology, and discussed the Midwest’s overall progress in the areas of utility policies and building codes.

Presentations highlighted building code adoption and compliance initiatives in Minnesota, Nebraska and Illinois, along with AEP Ohio’s Continuous Energy Improvement program, an energy efficiency program for industrial customers.
