National Fenestration Rating Council

The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) is the recognized global leader in delivering energy and related performance ratings and certification for fenestration products and systems. These include windows, doors, skylights, and attachment products.  NFRC is an independent 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization created to serve the public interest through education and research. Founded in 1989 by industry leaders, NFRC provides the only uniform, independent rating and labeling system for the energy performance of fenestration products and systems. NFRC’s strives to offer fair, accurate, and reliable energy performance ratings. This rating and labeling system enables architects, builders, code officials, contractors, and consumers to compare fenestration products more effectively and to make more informed product choices. It also helps those involved in code development and enforcement to determine whether products meet local building codes. NFRC’s rating and labeling system also assists in the establishment of performance requirements and standards for fenestration products and enables manufacturers to display the energy efficient benefits of their products.
