The Historic Chicago Bungalow Association (HCBA) is a non-profit organization that was created to foster an appreciation of the Chicago Bungalow as a distinctive housing type, encourage sympathetic rehabilitation of Chicago bungalows, and assist bungalow owners with making their homes more energy efficient and adapting their homes to current needs, which in turn helps to strengthen Chicago bungalow neighborhoods.
The Association offers a variety of financial resources, including grants for energy efficiency improvements, and technical resources, from “how-to” seminars to architectural pattern drawings for common bungalow rehab projects. Certifying a bungalow with the Historic Chicago Bungalow Association is the first step in accessing these financial incentives and benefits.
