The Alliance to Save Energy (ASE) promotes energy efficiency worldwide to achieve a healthier economy, a cleaner environment and energy security. Founded in 1977, the Alliance to Save Energy is a non-profit coalition of business, government, environmental and consumer leaders. The Alliance to Save Energy supports energy efficiency as a cost-effective energy resource under existing market conditions and advocates energy-efficiency policies that minimize costs to society and individual consumers, and that lessen greenhouse gas emissions and their impact on the global climate. To carry out its mission, the Alliance to Save Energy undertakes research, educational programs, and policy advocacy, designs and implements energy-efficiency projects, promotes technology development and deployment, and builds public-private partnerships, in the U.S. and other countries.

Alliant Energy Corporation is an energy holding company with regulated utility providers as well as non-regulated companies involved in delivering energy-related products and services. Headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, Alliant Energy serves more than three million customers around the globe. The Ameren Illinois Utilities have been providing safe, reliable energy delivery service for more than a century. The Ameren Illinois Utilities deliver energy to 1.2 million electric and more than 840,000 natural gas customers in about 1,000 communities, while helping customers spend less by using less energy and communities grow through economic development initiatives.

Ameren Corporation, based in St. Louis, provides energy services to 2.2 million customers in Missouri and Illinois. Approximately 95 percent of the company's $3 billion revenues flow from electric sales, with the remainder from sales of natural gas. Formerly Union Electric Company and CIPSCO Incorporated, Ameren prides itself on a long, successful tradition of financial strength, cost containment, low rates and continuous customer service improvements, as well as nine decades of uninterrupted cash dividend payments to stockholders.

The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing energy efficiency as a means of promoting both economic prosperity and environmental protection. ACEEE fulfills its mission by conducting in-depth technical and policy assessments; advising policymakers and program managers; working collaboratively with businesses, public interest groups, and other organizations; organizing conferences and workshops; publishing books, conference proceedings, and reports; and educating consumers and businesses. Projects are carried out by staff and selected energy efficiency experts from universities, national laboratories, and the private sector.

American Electric Power is one of the largest electric utilities in the United States, delivering electricity to more than 5 million customers in 11 states. AEP ranks among the nation’s largest generators of electricity, owning more than 38,000 megawatts of generating capacity in the U.S. AEP also owns the nation’s largest electricity transmission system, a nearly 39,000-mile network that includes more 765 kilovolt extra-high voltage transmission lines than all other U.S. transmission systems combined. AEP Ohio, a unit of American Electric Power, has 1,491,533 customers in Ohio.  Indiana Michigan Power, another Midwest unit, serves 580,878 customers.

APOGEE Interactive Inc. is a full-service provider of online technology solutions and consulting services to the energy industry.  Through a unique blend of industry veterans, subject matter experts, instructional designers, advanced programmers, and electronic communication artists and writers, Apogee develops cost-effective Internet and desktop tools to help utilities fulfill their energy efficiency, load management, marketing, communications, customer service, and training goals.

Applied Proactive Technologies, Inc. (APT) specializes in promoting energy efficiency. They are experts at creating market-driven shifts in behavior that result in the use of more energy-efficient products. The programs APT designs, plans, implements and evaluates operate at all levels of the market-from the manufacture of energy-efficient products to the distribution and sale to consumers. ARCA, formerly known as the Appliance Recycling Centers of America, is a leading provider of reverse logistics, energy-efficiency and appliance recycling services for appliance manufacturers, appliance retailers, electric utilities, waste management businesses, vending machine companies and local governments. Since 1975, the company has managed millions of refrigerators, ranges, washers, dryers and other major household appliances for its customers. Leveraging its more than 25 years of experience in managing returned products that can not be handled through its business partners' normal distribution channels, the company has developed the infrastructure necessary to become one of the nation's premier providers of fully integrated reverse logistics services. Associated Electric Cooperative Inc. is owned by and provides wholesale power to six regional and 51 local electric cooperative systems in Missouri, northeast Oklahoma and southeast Iowa that serve more than 850,000 customers.

The Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives (AIEC) is the service organization for member electric and telephone cooperatives in Illinois. The voting members of the AIEC include 24 electric distribution cooperatives and two power generation and transmission cooperatives. The AIEC increases the effectiveness and efficiency of its member cooperatives by providing common and essential services. These include engineering services and rate studies,  coordination of safety programs, legislative research and information, member information, printing and publications, public relations, and group purchasing of materials and supplies. As a liaison for the electric cooperatives in Illinois, the AIEC works with governmental agencies and other organizations dedicated to the growth and development of Illinois and the improvement of the welfare of its citizens. Through its service to member cooperatives, the AIEC contributes to the continued success and operation of the rural electrification program serving nearly 300,000 families and businesses in Illinois.

APEC was founded as an Illinois 501(c)6 not-for-profit association following a series of eight roundtable meetings in Illinois and St. Louis, Missouri.  Roundtable participants included commercial, industrial and institutional energy consumers as well as local, state and federal government representatives, energy consultants, vendors, and other professionals concerned about energy issues.  Their main concerns were to develop a reliable, regional resource of unbiased energy information and assist energy users in making the proper energy decisions.

Since 1994, APEC has been a positive force for those doing business within the energy industry of Illinois.  APEC is dedicated to providing objective information in the energy marketplace and has continuing credibility as a resource for members and energy consumers.

City Utilities of Springfield (CU) is a progressive community-owned utility serving southwest Missouri with electricity natural gas water telecommunications and transit services.  CU’s 108000 customers enjoy utility prices among the lowest in the United States the convenience of one bill for all utilities and dependable hometown services delivered with a personal touch.

Located in Springfield, Illinois, City Water, Light and Power (CWLP) is the largest of Illinois’ 42 public utilities by numbers of customers served, revenue, and generation. CWLP facilities include four coal-fired power plants; two oil-fired gas peaking turbines; a dual fuel natural gas and oil-fired combustion turbine; and a water purification plant, which serve customers in an 80-square-mile service territory. The utility also offers broadband services to area business customers through its fiber optic telecommunications network.

Columbia Water & Light is a municipally owned utility company located in Columbia, Missouri; their mission is to provide low cost service without any interruptions. Columbia Water & Light has been furnishing Columbians with low cost, reliable electricity and high quality water since 1904. Governed by the City Council, Columbia Water & Light is run as a department of the City of Columbia. Commonwealth Edison, for more than 100 years, has been the primary electric delivery services company for Northern Illinois. It currently provides electric service to more than 3.4 million customers. Conservation Services Group Inc. The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) is the association of U.S. shareholder-owned electric companies. Our members serve 95 percent of the ultimate customers in the shareholder-owned segment of the industry, and represent approximately 70 percent of the U.S. electric power industry. We also have more than 65 International electric companies as Affiliate members, and more than 170 industry suppliers and related organizations as Associate members. Organized in 1933, EEI works closely with all of its members, representing their interests and advocating equitable policies in legislative and regulatory arenas. In its leadership role, EEI provides advocacy, authoritative analysis, and critical industry data to its members, Congress, government agencies, the financial community and other opinion-leader audiences. The Electric Power Research Institute, Inc. (EPRI, www.epri.com) conducts research and development relating to the generation, delivery and use of electricity for the benefit of the public. An independent, nonprofit organization, EPRI brings together experts from academia and industry as well as its own scientists and engineers to help address challenges in electricity generation, delivery and use, including health, safety and the environment. EPRI's members represent more than 90 percent of the electricity generated and delivered in the United States, and international participation extends to 40 countries. Energy Center of Wisconsin (ECW) is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving energy efficiency in Wisconsin. Their mission is to be a leader in providing objective research, education and consulting to industry, government and the public. Whether you're a businessperson or policy maker an academic or industrialist the Energy Center of Wisconsin has the knowledge programs and people to meet your energy information needs. That could mean policy research a demonstration of new technology education programs even facilities planning. And while they're Wisconsin-based they work with customers across the country: businesses, public interest groups, trade allies, educators, utilities,  and state and national government agencies. Their capabilities include technology research; program planning, design and implementation; program evaluation and market research; professional education programs; policy consulting; outreach; and library services.

The Energy Education Council (EEC), formerly the Illinois Electric Council, is a registered 501 (c) 3 educational organization that enhances lives by promoting safe and efficient use of electricity. Headquartered within the University of Illinois Extension and guided by member organizations, it is comprised of investor-owned utilities, rural electric cooperatives, municipal electric utilities, University educators, and others committed to its mission. Energy Ed's work and growing membership have extended its impact throughout the nation. The dynamic www.EnergyEdCouncil.org Web site features extensive informational resources, efficiency calculators,  interactive games and activities and the Energy Efficiency Resource Center, an online library of informational,  financial and technical resources available to help residential and business consumers undertake efficiency upgrades and projects. Energy Ed's award-winning Safe Electricity awareness program impacts millions of consumers through its growing partnership with more than 300 utilities. Radio,  TV and print PSAs, video documentaries,  timely news releases and the comprehensive www.SafeElectricity.org Web site help keep electrical safety in the public eye. In addition to multi-media communication outreach endeavors, EEC conducts regular workshops for utilities and businesses regarding resources for efficiency and renewable energy projects, power quality technologies and policy developments that impact the industry.

Energy Efficiency Programs, Inc. (EEPI) is a corporation which creates, sells and supports energy efficiency improvement processes and procedures used by building owners and operators. It consists of program materials, software tools, training suites and consulting support.

EFI is one of the leading residential distributors of energy efficiency-related products in the United States. Underlying EFI's mission today is the belief that a key obstacle to increased energy and water efficiency is inadequate awareness of, and access to, good quality resource conservation-related products. It is insufficient to simply recognize the benefits associated with reducing inefficient energy and water consumption - people actually need to be able to find and purchase these types of products. EFI uses multiple approaches to address this issue, through three business groups, a Consumer Division, Wholesale Division, and a Utility Programs Division.

Energy Marketing Consulting Group (EMCG) is a consulting practice with a focus on developing insight and intelligence for commercial and residential energy consumers. Our combined expertise in market research, predictive modeling, and marketing applications is extensive and strategic. We maintain long standing relationships with the largest and most important residential and commercial information services providers. EMCG applies marketing consulting expertise to client issues by building strategies that will identify, influence, and convert energy customers to the most effective energy efficiency programs. The Environmental Law and Policy Center (ELPC) is a Midwest public interest environmental advocacy organization working to achieve cleaner energy resources and implement sustainable energy strategies, promote innovative and efficient transportation and land use approaches that produce cleaner air and more jobs, and develop sound environmental management practices that conserve natural resources and improve the quality of life in our communities. One of ELPC's premises is that environmental progress and economic development can be achieved together. ELPC was founded in 1993 after a year-long strategic planning process sponsored by seven major foundations. They meet two long-term needs in the Midwest: (1) increased public interest legal, economic and scientific resources devoted to important environmental and energy policy issues; and (2) a strategic regional perspective as energy, transportation, and forests and lands conservation issues are increasingly regional in scope, complex and require coordinated strategies to shape public policy.

With increasing electricity costs and climate change concerns, utilities, businesses and others are challenged to meet electricity needs cost-effectively and cleanly. The H2i outdoor unit is the only heat pump of its kind that produces so much heat at such low temperatures, opening up applications for ultra-efficient heat pump operation in Northern and cold climates where heat pumps were not previously an option.
